DESCRIVEDENDO

DescriVedendo is a journey of slow, gradual discovery through works of art, where each piece is brought to life through careful morphological description: a detailed verbal account of everything depicted in the painting, told entirely through words.

The morphological descriptions are designed for people with reduced visual ability, but they can also support anyone who wants to experience a more conscious engagement with a work of art through slow looking.

HOW THE MORPHOLOGICAL DESCRIPTIONS ARE DEVELOPED

The morphological descriptions are developed collaboratively by the Educational Services of the Cenacolo, with the support of the Associazione Nazionale Subvedenti onlus (ANS). They are grounded in the DescriVedendo guidelines, a research project conceived by Marco Boneschi and promoted by ANS.
Each DescriVedendo description follows a multi-draft process, with every version evaluated by volunteer validators. Only when a text meets pre-established standards of precision and clarity is it awarded the DescriVedendo certification.o.
