The project, the winner of the Fondazione Cariplo’s Call for Culture for the two-year period 2021-2023, focuses on a contemporary reinterpretation of one of Leonardo Da Vinci’s great masterpieces, the Last Supper.
CENACOLO LIVE! will be held through guided tours of Leonardo’s work and the presentation of workshops and laboratories in the two districts of Dergano and Barona leading to the creation of TWO LIVE PERFORMANCES and then TWO VIDEO WORKS to be shown to the public and visitors to the Museum of Leonardo’s Last Supper. They will be created by young people in the two districts guided by the multimedia artists’ collective Film Live Association. It develops live cinema through research projects with a participatory approach and offers opportunities for training in both audiovisual techniques and the creation of narrative content.
Assisted by participants in the workshop, the artists of the Film Live Association will stage a fascinating and emotional performative work that reinterprets Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper starting from the themes that emerge during the practical workshops. Supported by performers and musicians, the artists will actively involve the participants, in ways suited to their inclinations and sensibilities, to express themselves and take part in the performance.
For the first year of the project we are looking for 15 young people under the age of 35 strongly motivated to take part in a creative workshop to be held on the premises of the Nuova Armenia association, in collaboration with Asnada, in Dergano between May and July 2022.
If you are interested in taking part in CENACOLO LIVE! send your application to Connecting Cultures by 15 April 2022.
